CHANELL J. WILSON
Chanell J. Wilson is a Multidisciplinary recording artist, songwriter & author from the East Bay Area. She has been writing since she was thirteen and performing since she was three-years-old. As an artist; she is a trained theatrical actress & voice-over performer, writer, dancer, public speaker, animator, scriptwriter, filmmaker, entrepreneur, songwriter, & vocalist. She studied Theatre Arts at San Francisco State University and Screenwriting and Editing at Academy of Art University. She also has a Vocational Certificate in Recording Arts at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, CA. specializing in Music Business/Industry Studies and is a member of ASCAP.
After 15-years of workshopping songs and writing a catalog; Chanell partnered with Alexis Records and Blue Groove Productions and released her debut single "Draw Near to Me”. The song ,an eclectic R&B tune about getting close to the one you love, has gained National and International Radio Airplay and also received a nomination for 2020 Endie Fiya Awards Best R&B Female Song Category.
In January 2020; Wilson departed from her former label and formed Beaver-Wilson Girls & Son Media -a family Multi-Media Company. In April 2020; she released her 2nd single “Black Heart on the Table”- a song about mental health awareness, conditional love and how it impacts the human heart. The song received national and international radio airplay and was nominated for the 2021 Endie FIYA AWARDS BEST R&B FEMALE Song Category.
In January 2021; Chanell released her 3rd Single “LIGHT” - a song about overcoming depression and shifting the mind and heart’s perspective from defeat to a determined mindset of finding the light at the end of the tunnel. The song “Light” will also be on her “Black Heart on the Table Short EP: A Warrior’s Lament” (Release date February 2021).
Currently, Chanell Wilson is preparing the visual cinematography for the Black Heart on the Table Short EP “A Warrior’s Lament” Emotion Picture. Chanell believes that creativity and love can heal this world and she is determined to do just that!
